Kids Triathlon Training Series
Our 2010 Kids Triathlon Training Team program introduced 27 kids to triathlon, nutrition and prepared them for the Tri To Cure Youth race at Furman University. This eager group of kids met each week for swim lessons, bike or runs and even a couple of mock triathlons to get the kids ready for the local youth triathlon race season. The program ran from March through the end of July and is in cooperation with the Upstate Triathlon Club, the Caine Halter Family YMCA and Furman University through the generosity of the Greenville Hospital System and our club‘s great sponsors. Eighteen of these kids participated in the Tri To Youth Triathlon and four placed in their age groups. Every single one had a smile on their face as they crossed the finish line. Please contact us at president@upstatetriclub.org to reserve your spot for the 2011 team.

Kids Triathlon Training Series Sponsors
Through the generous donations of our club members and our club partners/sponsors, we were able to buy bikes, running shoes and related triathlon gear for two deserving kids who are participating in our training program. We want to thank our friends at the Greenville Hospital System, the Caine Halter Family YMCA, The Great Escape and Fleet Feet for partnering with us and helping these kids get ready to race the Tri To Cure Race. If you have any equipment needs, please shop at these great local retailers.
We also want to thank the Caine Halter Family YMCA and Furman University for allowing us the use of their facilities.
Many thanks to our friends at Whole Foods Market for providing lots of great nutritious snacks for our young triathletes and hosting a nutrition seminar.
Thanks to USA Triathlon - Southeast Region for their generous financial contribution of $1,000
